The old churchyard is situated behind the Masonic Hall in Trosnant St Pontypool. The site has been in a neglected state for many years but in 1989 it was tidied and during the course of this work, with the permission of the Baptist Union, the gravestones were re-sited. Below is a sketch of where the monuments were before they were moved. They are now situated around the edge of the site.

This graveyard was originally looked at by Dave Woolven on 27th September1989, it was very overgrown and he recorded the first 5 headstones (on what I now call plot C). The whole graveyard has now been completely recorded by John Freer and Jackie Dunn, November 1992. It is still very overgrown, and there may be kerbs lurking under the tumpy overgrown grass that we may have missed. NB: As these headstones are not in nice neat rows, we have made a point of recording the numbers of the ones on the PATH, the numbers of the ones near the ones on the path will be found at the rear of the numbers on the path, but not necessarily in straight rows behind them.

This Chapel has been demolished, the stones stood around the walls of the graveyard. There are a few large stones still in place. Starting from Co-op car park, working anti-clockwise
