Please use ONLY the three-letter codes shown against the country. This is generally the “3-Character Country Codes” allocated by the ISO (International Standards Organisation). The list also includes historical ISO Country Codes which have now been withdrawn but are still used for family history purposes. We have also included codes for ‘groups’ of countries (such as South America) which you can use where you do not know the individual country.
