David Priddis will lead a tour of the church at St Arvans and present a history of the village and the church.
Tours will be available at 11.00am; 12 noon and 2.30pm, or as required by visitors.
Presentations and displays will include:-
- Late 10th Century Celtic Cross in the Church
- Registers and Memorials
- Those who served in WWI and on casualties
- Nathaniel Wells – Owner of Piercefield Estate and Slave Trade interest – born in St. Kitts
- William Clifford Townsend – Dambuster Pilot – St. Arvans family – his ashes are buried in the Churchyard
- Dr Arthur Guynon Purchas – b. 1821 St. Arvans and early New Zealand Missionary, Surgeon, Architect and Inventor
- Photos of 2012 Restoration and Bell – cast at Chepstow Bell Foundry by William Evans 1751
- Displays of local crafts and history, etc.
