Blackwood School Staff Room was the place to be on Tuesday 13th June. We were royally entertained by a new speaker to us, Mr Don Balkwill. Don had brought along twenty items from his ‘Forgotten Gadgets’ collection and it was our task to work out what they were. A brief history and some elusive clues were given and then it was over to us to handle, scrutinise and cogitate in teams to work out what they were. Out of the twenty items the highest score of correct answers was seven. The answers given were, hilarious, imaginative and mostly WRONG!!!!! It was an insight into gadgets that might have been used by our grandparents. We look forward to another visit by Don in the New Year.
